SVYSA Player Development Program For 2008 Print E-mail
This is a free three-session program for all SVYSA registered recreational soccer players and their coaches.  Parents are welcome to attend too!

Goals
 
Develop each player’s understanding of the game and help them learn or improve some basic soccer skills that they can then practice on their own.  Create a shared knowledge base and vocabulary so that recreational coaches can describe, demonstrate, and reinforce these skills in their practices.  This will be accomplished by pairing select coaches and players with recreational coaches and players in a positive, fun, and pressure-free environment.

Program Specifics
  • Each select team will hold three practices with a group of recreational teams. Older age groups will be paired with a much younger age group of the    same gender.
  • Each select team will work with these coaches and players on specific and age- appropriate training:
    - Dribbling
    - Passing and Receiving
    - Shooting
  • Practices will be held on August 4th, 11th, and 18th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the High School fields. 
    Please use only the High School lots to park or drop off your child.
Final Day of Training
  • Each player will receive a shoe bag with the Sonoma Soccer Club logo. The player must attend the last day of training to receive the bag.
