![]() Click image to enlarge The Rush played a very strong game in the Championship against the excellent Sunnyvale Alliance Extreme, the Runner-up of last year's Association Cup. The Rush opened the score in the first minutes of play with a shot from 30 yards, taking the goal keeper by surprise. The Rush's defense worked hard to keep away the numerous assaults from the Sunnyvale Alliance while the Rush's attack managed to score 2 more goals before halftime. In the second half, the Rush continued to pressure the opponent while playing more defensively. The final score was 3-0. In the preliminary round, the Rush defeated the Fremont Thunder 7-0, the host, Palo Alto 96G Blue 7-0 and a draw against Burligame Breakers 1-1. While these stats are impressive, what stood out the most was the amazing sportsmanship and team playing that was evident by not only the Rush, but by the opposing team as well. Next weekend, the Rush will play WESCO Flash and Petaluma Fireballs at the Sonoma Valley High School, continuing with their league games. |
