![]() Click image to enlarge The Rush started strong with a 5-0 victory against the Walnut Creek Raptor followed by a 2-1 win against the Newark Celtic. On Sunday morning, the Rush was leading the scoreboard by one point before playing the Mustang Tornado for a place in the Championship. Rush score first but conceded a goal at the last minute for a final score of 1-1, this was enough to send the Rush to the Championship. The Rush play the championship against the very skilled and physical Stockton Storm 97. The Storm took the game into control and scored at the 8th minute. The Rush reacted right away and scored 30 second later on an own goal. At the 15th minutes, Stockton took the advantage 2-1. 7th minutes in the second half, Nikita break away and was brought down in front of the goal, after a long discussion between the Referee and his assistant, the Referee pointed the penalty spot. Nikita scored to tied the game to 2-2. The Rush were now in control of the game and were pressuring the Storm. At the 13th minutes, Christen scored her first ever goal to give the advantage to the Rush for the first time in this game. But 2 minutes later, the Storm scored to tied to 3-3. The game went to extra time (2 x 10 minutes) with Golden Goal (first team to score win). While the Rush had several occasions to score, the Storm score at the last second of the second extra time period for a final score of 4-3. This conclude the Rush summer's 4 tournaments with 2 first places and 2 second places. The Rush played a total of 17 games for 14 win, 1 tie ad 2 lose with a total of 73 goals for and 18 against. |
