Sonoma SC "Cobras" recently concluded league play in CYSA District 5, taking 1st place out of 7 teams, with an 11-1 record. Their only loss was a 1-2 "nail-biter" against the 2nd place team, Santa Rosa NW Oaks "Storm," a team the Cobras beat 2 out of 3 times this season counting tournament play. Next up for the Cobras is the Copa Del Rey Tournament on December 6 and 7 in Sacramento, a U.S. Club sanctioned event, in which the Cobras will be playing in the "Gold" division. The Cobras' sister team, the U10 Girls "Sol", will also be attending that tournament. |

The U10 boys D3 team ,The Cobras, had another great weekend.
Saturday morning they held a strong Santa Rosa Central Fire team scoreless, and won 2-0. Outstanding play on all sides of the field as well as a balanced team effort helped the Cobras defeat this strong district rival.
On Sunday morning the team caravanned to Tiburon to take on the Tiburon Bulls. The Cobras continued their relentless attack on offense and defense and shut down the Bulls 6-0.
The Cobras have a 8-1 record in district 5 play. The only loss came at home to the Santa Rosa Storm in a battle for first place. The Cobras lost 2-1 after a great match-up and competitive game. The Storm and Cobras met in an earlier match-up in Santa Rosa that was a 2-1 Cobra "unofficial" victory.
Coach Rick and Jaime are real proud of the boys and how well they are gelling as a TEAM.
Next up for the Cobras are three regular season road games and then a D3 Copa Del Rey tournament on Dec. 6-7. |

The Under 10 Boys Division 3 Team of SVYSA’s Sonoma Soccer Club, the “Cobras,” are off to a strong start this year. They won all four of their games at the Rose City Jamboree held in Santa Rosa on the weekend of July 13 and 14, and finished second at the Puma Seawolf Cup 6 vs. 6 Tournament held on July 19 at Sonoma State University, losing in the Final to a solid team from Daly City, the “Gators.” They followed by winning all four games they played at the Rohnert Park Jamboree on July 26. After 5 weeks off from competition, the Cobras began regular season play on September 6 and, so far, they have a 3-0 record in league play. They are looking forward to what promises to be a very competitive U10 Tournament at Sonoma State University on September 26 and 27. |
