We did it! Another Halloween Classic is over. By all accounts it was a huge success. Our Sonoma teams won every group. That has never happened before and must say something about the standard of soccer here in the Valley. That some of the younger age groups that were playing up in age, got to the finals show that we can look forward to a great future of soccer. The list of people I have to thank is very large. I will name some people who went ‘over the top’ in their work. I know that as soon as I push the button to publish this letter I will remember so many more people that I should mention. Sorry, you know who you are, as do so most of the coaches, players and parents. Thank you to you too. Rod Rohrbacher and April Rossini took over the running of Field of Dreams, I never did manage to get over there so it was very reassuring to know that it was in such capable hands. Reports say that it was very well run and extremely smooth. I have received many compliments about their work. Stacey Schoeningh led a group who put on the snack bar. It was a real hit. They even brought in the RV’s and camped out for 2 nights. That’s dedication! All the proceeds from the snack bar go into the Dora Lucatero Memorial Scholarship Fund. I understand it is a lot of money. Alison Johnston. What can I say? She has been amazing on running the referees all season and she outdid herself on this Tournament. Great work! Lisa White for her work on designing the trophies and handling their production and delivery to the tournament. The referees were awesome again. Thank you to all you parents and players who volunteered to help. Thank you to the Tournament Committee. I am looking forward to next year already.
