TRYOUTS RESULT:

We would like to thank the players for coming out and giving a 110% this last weekend at tryouts. As we mentioned at the end of the last tryout on Sunday we will be having another round of tryouts on April 24th or 25th for the players that do not make the first cut. The final time and date will be posted on the Sonoma soccer web site, www.sonomasoccer.org. If you don’t make the first cut please don’t be discouraged. We had a lot of new faces and we were impressed by the talent that we saw on the pitch. We would like to see some additional play time from those players that didn’t make the first cut. Please work hard between now and the end of April, we only have two spots remaining to fill on the team. Keep your chin up and stay positive!

The U12 Strikers don't get Skunked!

Click image to enlarge Winning all their games by a combined score of 18-1 the Strikers won the Skunk Classic in Fort Bragg this past weekend. Great plays on all sides of the field and outstanding teamwork led the team to 30 (maximum) points in their flight. The championship win 5-1, came against a physical opponent the Orangevale United. With each game the Strikers grew in confidence and communication. "We saw some great over-lappings happening", said the coaches. Next up for the Strikers is the Soccer By the Bay Tournament on August 16 and 17th.

U12B Strikers finishes 3rd at Redwood City

Click image to enlarge Sonoma's U12 Division 3 boys soccer team finishes third in the 38th annual Juvenutus Torneo Dei Camioni soccer tournament in Redwood City this past weekend. Playing in their first division one gold tournament the Strikers, led by Coach Dino Rossini, Jim Van Sickle and manager Dan Sondheim, finished a strong third place. Playing with only one substitute all weekend the boys battled hard and earned tremendous praise from the host team. Juventus Elite won the tournament after defeating the Strikers and the Celtics, a club from southern California. Next up for the Strikers the Fort Bragg Skunk classic this weekend.
