U10B Sonoma United went to the Association Cup

Click image to enlarge Sonoma United finished their season at the first ever Association Cup for Under 10’s. Held in Livermore on postage size fields, it took a game for all the teams to adjust to the field size. They tied the first game against Redwood San Carlos Riptide 0-0 with a strong game by keeper Sam Volker and a solid if confusing game for the rest of the team. The team pulled out a strong win in the second game against the Alameda Islanders. After going down 1-0 in the first half Arturo Fernandez snuck in a shot from an impossible angle after receiving his corner kick deflection right back on his feet. In the second half Alanso Arias came to life to lift the team with 2 goals. First off a low corner from Fernandez. A great one touch through traffic that found the back of the net. Second off a cross from Asher Sutter where Alanso fought his way to the ball and poked it through a crowd.
