Sonoma United finished their season at the first ever Association Cup for Under 10’s. Held in Livermore on postage size fields, it took a game for all the teams to adjust to the field size. They tied the first game against Redwood San Carlos Riptide 0-0 with a strong game by keeper Sam Volker and a solid if confusing game for the rest of the team. The team pulled out a strong win in the second game against the Alameda Islanders. After going down 1-0 in the first half Arturo Fernandez snuck in a shot from an impossible angle after receiving his corner kick deflection right back on his feet. In the second half Alanso Arias came to life to lift the team with 2 goals. First off a low corner from Fernandez. A great one touch through traffic that found the back of the net. Second off a cross from Asher Sutter where Alanso fought his way to the ball and poked it through a crowd.
