SVYSA is a California public benefit corporation whose objectives are to develop, promote and administer the game of soccer among the youth of Sonoma Valley.


Members of the Corporation are those who have paid soccer dues, those who have children playing in the League, and any current Board member.


The Annual Meeting of the Corporation, where new Board members are elected, takes place on the first Monday of December, in Sonoma.  Time and location to be posted here.


Regular Board of Directors meetings take place on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, with an additional meeting scheduled for the 4th Wednesday (on an as-needed basis only).
Time: 7:00 p.m. with public comment welcome from 7:00- 7:15 p.m.
Place:  Conference room at the Sonoma Fire Department on 2nd Street West.

Everyone welcome to vote early or wait until 7 pm meeting time.  You must be present to vote*

If you are interested in serving on the SVYSA Board of Directors for 2009, please notify Eamonn Fay by November 27, 2008, and you will be added to the ballot.  Email: secretary@sonomasoccer.org

More details about the Annual General Meeting:

Members (you!) will vote for 15 Directors.  
2009 Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) will be chosen at the December, 2008 meeting of the new Board of Directors.

The new Board will also choose various managers of the league, for 2009 (e.g. Registrar, Referee Coordinator, Select Teams Coordinator, Game Scheduler, Age Group Coordinators, etc.)
These managers may, but need not necessarily be, other Directors.

*The bylaws allow for a family to have one vote per registered player, up to a maximum of two votes per family.  Each parent must attend if the family is to receive two votes. There is no proxy voting.
